How to get the Digital Photos from your Professional Photography Session

I mentioned to my mums’ group that I had started researching a professional family photographer.

The one thing they all told me:

Everyone told me…..

“MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE DIGITAL PHOTOS FROM YOUR SESSION!’

BUT…

I had already done that - with MY WEDDING photos and I never printed them… or even know where the disk is 12 years later!

So when I was looking for a family photographer
and my friends had told me…
the most important thing to ask for was someone

“THAT GAVE YOU THE DIGITALS…. “

I was like WHAAA?????

“I just wanted something that was the finished product and something that was ready to hang on my wall I didn't want to deal with the other stuff”

I didn't want to wait in line at Officeworks or BigW to get tiny pictures printed that had weird colours and I never looked at them again because they were such bad quality. Plus who has time for that these days anyway?

The wedding photos I had printed with nowhere near good enough quality to give to my family as the as gifts which I had thought I was going to do.

The cost of framing was I had never considered when I was looking to get my family photographs I was nowhere going down to think of my wedding again what was actually going do with the digitals.

I just wanted to finish product that was ready to hang on my wall getting the digital copies was didn't seem as important as I originally thought.

What I found was a credible photographer will give you the digital copy when you purchase a piece for your wall. That’s how you buy a digital photo!

So definitely get the digital if you wanting to print a calendar a mug or a mouse pad or share on social media but if you're really wanting photos any credible professional photographer will supply you the digital copies of the photographs you purchase.

At the end of the day I'm not a professional printer I'm not a professional framer and I didn't really consider this until my wedding photos all ended up in a USB drive that I can't find in the drawer.
